Serve To Lead
Plus est en Vous

AB Camp 2012 has officially ended! It was my first official camp in AJC, and it was actually the the best camp I've ever been in, ever. Well, not forgetting the Band Fun camp in sec 1, but I was rather clueless back then, hence I had more doubts rather than enjoyable moments.

Met lots of new people during the camp, and the friendships made, the bonds formed, the effort put in, it all adds up to a spirit that only AB Campers 2012 will understand. Here's a brief summary of what happened throughout the 5D4N~

Day 1
Practically the whole of day 1 was spent on workshops, with SL planning at night. Was down for duty during lunch, dinner and supper.
Serving food during lunch.

Discussing about SL.

Day 2
Morning was SL, where kids who were less fortunate came to AJC to play games and have fun. Initially I had this fear that the kids wouldn't listen to me, but things turned out pretty well actually. My SIs gave me good feedback about my performance, such as me having a smile on my face throughout the whole SL.
Went for dragon-boating in the afternoon, had lots of fun rowing with my group mates. Lots of fun splashing other groups too! Had more workshops at night.

Day 3
Moved over to LAC early in the morning. Weather initially wasn't on our side, rained so heavily that the high elements couldn't carry on. Sun was out about an hour later, and I didn't regret coming into this camp. Managed to walk across a low bridge, which was a so-called warm-up for my actual test - the Leap of Faith, of so they call it. Basically, it is a vertical wooden pole of about 2 stories high? Had to climb up on it and grab the trapeze that was in front of it. Forgot to shout "THIS IS SPARTA" before I jumped, but whatever. Managed to grab the trapeze, which was a huge sense of achievement for me, since not many were able to grab it. Had low elements after lunch, was tasked to facilitate a game and reflection session, and had another workshop at night.
Me on the trapeze.

Day 4 & 5
Went back to AJC for games. Had fun, and I'm still wondering how I ended up with 24m for the length of the rope, which turned out to be correct. Went for a nap in the afternoon before Night Expedition. Had lots of fun during night expedition, our pace was so fast that we overtook a group from wave 2. Got held up at the games station, but still made it within our target of 6hours (took 5hr51mins). Everyone held hands and we ran into the gathering area when we were nearing the finish line, was my idea actually! Slept at MBS after that before going back to AJC. Received our AB Camp T-Shirt, break camp a few hours later and went to KFC with my group mates for civilisation food HAHA

Lim Kuan Yiou. Previously under my brother in Scouts, now he is the Vice President of SC in my school. How small can the world get? Great to have a friend like him!

Gerard, one of the best guys I've met. Sprinting with me from our bunk to the shower was epic every time, glad to have a friend like him. These were the 2 pictures I took when we break camp.
Sad right, I know.

AB Camp 2012 was truly a memorable one. Never forgetting the friends I've made through this camp, and my wonderful Group 1 Aata. Thankful to everyone who made this camp a successful one. The Principals, Teachers, Student Instructors, and campers who actually bothered to turn up HAHA

Really want to wear the AB Camp instructor shirt next year. Right now, I'm motivated by OGL and ABSI. I will work hard for my promos, and if my studies are okay, then I will be able to achieve my targets. Hell yeah, all the way.
